DUAL-SPEED-MODE - high speed range with nanometer positioning 

The approved precision measuring stage series PMT160 was modifed for special applications in the laser technology and metrology. The innovation “DUAL-SPEED MODE” includes an assembly of 2 motors at one axis. For high speed a standard DC-Motor is used that can reach depending on the screw pitch 50…120mm/s. Due to the low speed dynamic range of a DC-Motor, positionings in the nanometer range do not meet the specifc requirements. In order to achieve very low speeds and nanometer steps it is possible to switch to a rotary piezo drive. The motion control will be executed by a modifed standard controller.
